E-TALAQQI: AN ANALYSIS OF TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE MODEL 3 (TAM3) ON THE UNDERSTANDING OF DIGITAL QURAN USAGE AND IMPLICATIONS AMONG SENIOR CITIZENS IN MALAYSIA

Abstract

The rapid growth of technology has given birth to more interesting mobile applications and nowadays, the Internet is becoming people’s daily communication network. The concept of digitization of printed manuscript or copy has resulted to be more interactive and effective to diffuse the use of digital publications. Electronic Quran (eQuran) or digital Quran is one of the result and is considered as the most common application that has been downloaded among Muslim society in Malaysia. The fact that this digital Quran has become popular because it is easy to use and available with bilingual version in English and Bahasa Melayu translations. Furthermore, digital Quran also provided Qibla direction and accurate prayer times in more than 1,000 cities from different countries. The purpose of this study is to understand the usage and implications of digital Quran among senior citizen. Qualitative research using in-depth interview and observation approach have been applied to collect data. A total of 10 informants were involved in this research.
