ANALYSIS ON LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING AMONG SHARIAH NON-COMPLIANT MONEY PAYERS IN MALAYSIA

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to identify the level of understanding of shariah non-compliant money payers with regards to its concepts and sources. This study used the questionnaire as the instrument and involved 115 respondents who were living in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. The findings showed that the level of understanding of the payer on the concept of non-compliant money were low and moderate. However, the understanding towards the sources of Shariah non-compliant money were at high and very high levels. Hence, all parties must play their role to convey accurate knowledge to the public about shariah non-compliant money. It was so important to help the public get rid from any shariah non-compliance money or purifying their properties if they have been involved with the prohibited activities.
