Islamic financial planning and family sustainability: Evidence from housewives in Indonesia

This study analyzes the role of Islamic financial planning on the family sustainability of Muslim families in Indonesia. This study is based on the low level of Islamic financial literacy, which has implications for the weak economic resilience of households. A quantitative approach was applied using a survey of 48 housewives members of the “Islamic Women's Organization” in Demak, Central Java, Indonesia, using convenience sampling as the sampling technique. The data analysis techniques used are dummy regression. The results show that Islamic financial planning positively and significantly affects family financial, socio-islamic ethically, environmentally sustainability. Conversely, formal education and income levels did not show a significant impact. These findings confirm that understanding and applying Islamic financial planning is crucial in strengthening household economic resilience. Furthermore, the practical implications of this study highlight the importance of Islamic financial education, especially for housewives, as a strategy to improve family welfare.
