Abstract

This paper addresses the moral crisis arising from the increasing cases of sexual violence in Islamic educational institutions, which not only undermine human dignity but also shake the ethical and spiritual foundations of the Muslim community. It emphasizes the necessity of an ethical and contextual interpretation of the Qur’an, moving beyond purely legalistic readings. Drawing upon Fazlur Rahman’s double movement theory and the principles of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, the study proposes an interpretive framework that prioritizes victim protection, the realization of justice, and the preservation of human dignity. In doing so, the Qur’an can once again serve as a source of justice, compassion, and social transformation in addressing the problem of sexual violence within Islamic education.
