Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to propose and develop a distinct perspective of cash waqf and explores how agile interaction plays a crucial role in enhancing the sustainability of cash waqf in an Islamic economy context. This paper offers the novelty to discover the role of an agile interaction in cash waqf field of study. Agile refers to the ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing circumstances and challenges to achieve desired outcomes. This paper is based on a critical review of the literature for insight and also highlights the significance of cash waqf as a tool for enhancing sustainability in Islamic economy. Furthermore, cash waqf has been recognized as a valuable instrument in promoting the growth of waqf instruments and institutions, thus contributing to their sustainability and formation. Moreover, various studies have pointed out the positive impacts of cash waqf on society and the economy. Cash waqf, a form of Islamic endowment based on monetary contributions, has gained increasing attention as a means to enhance the sustainability of Islamic finance institutions and promote socio-economic development from an Islamic perspective. Thus, this review suggests that scholars in the area and as a reference for waqf institutions that are working on sustainability. This review also provides an insight of how to adapt and respond quickly to changing circumstances in order to sustain and enhance the effectiveness of cash waqf as one of the Islamic social finance instruments.
