Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent of the usage of digital learning applications among Islamic students in polytechnics. In facing the rapid technological era, the integration of digital learning applications is considered crucial in enhancing the quality of education. This study adopts a quantitative approach using a questionnaire as the research instrument. An adapted Google Form questionnaire is utilised to collect the required data and information. A total of 100 students from Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Polytechnic (POLISAS) and Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Polytechnic (PSMZA) were sampled for this study. The results of both descriptive and inferential analysis indicate that the minimum score for the level of usage of learning applications among Islamic students in polytechnics reaches a high level, specifically 3.9133, while the minimum score for the positive impact resulting from the usage of applications is also high, at 3.7775. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between the frequency of app usage and academic achievement, indicating that students perform better academically when using the application. One of the primary factors influencing the frequency of student app usage is the user-friendly nature of the applications, comprising 45%, while the highest contributing factor, at 49%, is the usability for the desired learning topics. The findings of this study can provide insights into the extent to which Islamic polytechnic students are embracing current technology trends through the use of digital learning applications, as well as the factors influencing their usage. The study's results are expected to guide educational institutions in aligning teaching approaches with students' technological needs and acceptance. With a deep understanding of this issue, it is hoped to help strengthen teaching and learning among Islamic students specifically and all polytechnic students in general.
