Abstract

The halal industry, in recent years, has become one of the essential industries locally and globally. Behind all this development is the halal supply chain. In Malaysia, because the majority population is Muslim, there will be an effect the halal supply chain can bring to the country. Moreover, with its status of Malaysia as a global halal hub, the halal supply chain must be applied and practised widely to guard the halal quality of the food itself. This research investigates the effect of the halal supply chain on the halal food and beverages industry and proposes improvements that can be applied to the halal supply chain. This research is a qualitative method and uses content analysis to achieve the objective of this research. The researcher of these studies categorised the effect of the halal supply chain on the halal food and beverages industry into three: the halal food integrity aspect, the development of the Malaysia halal standard, and the development of the economy in Malaysia. In conclusion, all the effects the researcher has discussed show that the impact of the halal supply chain on halal food and beverages is positive, showing the importance of the halal supply chain to the development of the halal industry in Malaysia.
