Abstract

This paper is specifically examining the Peer Academic Tutoring (PAT) program, where the senior students take the role of mentor in coaching and advising the mentee (the participant of the program) for ECO120 subject. This program aims to help students who are weak in mastering the ECO120. This is a descriptive study and the samples involved were 74 mentees from semester 3 students of Diploma in Office Management and Technology, UiTM Cawangan Melaka through set of questionnaires which consist of 10 questions that focus on the students’ feelings about learning ECO120 with mentors. Based on the data analysis in the final assessment result of ECO120, it could be concluded that students under this program have shown improvement in their results and interests in learning ECO120. Among 96% from the mentees who joined the program passed the subject and 3 of them gained A grade while only 4% failure rate is reported. This paper is expected to contribute to the field of education research in exploring on the peer tutoring among students in the future.
