VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF THE SURVEY INSTRUMENT OF PRESCHOOL TEACHER’S LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ATTITUDES ON 21ST-CENTURY PRESCHOOL EDUCATION
Abstract
This study aims to establish the validity and reliability of a survey Instrument of Preschool Teacher’s Level of Knowledge Skills and Attitudes on 21st-Century Preschool Education using the Rasch Measurement Model. The research design employed a sample of 122 preschool teachers in Klang Valley, Malaysia. The survey instrument was carefully developed, comprising a comprehensive set of items in three main domains which are knowledge, skills and attitude towards 21st Century Education. The Rasch Measurement Model, a sophisticated psychometric approach, was employed to analyze the data. The Results indicate strong evidence of validity and reliability of the instrument. The implications of this research are significant for early childhood educators, psychologists, and policymakers. The validated survey instrument can serve as a valuable tool for identifying the level of knowledge, skills, and attitude of the teacher toward 21st century education. Moreover, the utilization of the Rasch Measurement Model highlights its potential as a robust and effective psychometric approach in the field of early childhood education.
