PILOT STUDY ON FINTECH SERVICES FOR THE COOPERATIVES INDUSTRY

Abstract

FinTech, or financial technology, is one of the most recent advancements in the financial sector. The purpose of this study is to propose a conceptual model for Financial Technology adoption in Malaysian Cooperative Industry. This study is a quantitative study that use a survey method to collect the data. Cooperative members as the respondents were exploited for data collection. Questionnaires (Google Form link) will be distributed to cooperative members in Malaysia via email, WhatsApp, and Facebook. A pilot study of 48 completed questionnaires were analysed. The reliability result of this questionnaire was high with the reading of the Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient value for a total of 26 items 0.975. The range of the reliability index of each construct was between 0.821 to 0.986. The result also found that most of the data are not normally distributed for this study. Thus, this study will go for a non-parametric test with Spearman rank on the correlation test in the real study later. This study contributes to the literature and initial overview of the adoption of FinTech services for the cooperatives industry.
