Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between work-life balance, selfefficacy and job satisfaction among fast food industry employees at Ipoh, Perak. It further aimed to identify the best predictor of job satisfaction among work-life balance and selfefficacy. Most of the proposed studies did not evaluate all three variables clearly and simultaneously. It is crucial to focus on it because it can highlight the importance of work-life balance and self-efficacy in promoting job satisfaction among fast food industry employees. Three-hundred (300) fast-food industry employees were recruited through purposive sampling to complete the surveys including Work Life Balance Scale, Occupational Self-Efficacy Scale and Generic Job Satisfaction Scale. Findings of the study revealed that work-life balance and self-efficacy is significantly and positively correlated with job satisfaction. The regression results indicate that all independent variables which are work-life balance and self-efficacy are positively correlated with the dependent variable which is job satisfaction. There is no significant difference between male and female employees in terms of self-efficacy, work-life balance and job satisfaction. The findings of this study deliver valuable insight for human resource and policy makers who are concerned with the factors that contribute to job satisfaction among fast food employees.
