Abstract

Recent studies show that workplace injustice has been increasingly experienced by most employees in the working environment. Many countries worldwide have considered workplace injustice as a serious concern within an organizational context as it affects the well- being of employees. Many incidents reported recently shown that workplace injustice has become a serious social concern. There has been an upward surge in the consideration of the pressure and distress on the employees regarding the workplace injustice. Due to this pressing situation, many organizations have considered workplace injustice as a major concern in their organizations. In order to overcome this problem, it is crucial for organizations to understand workplace injustice in depth. However, even though there has been a significant increase need for more research on workplace injustice, studies show that workplace injustice is still under- researched. Thus makes it difficult for most organizations especially in Malaysia to tackle this issue as many aspects are still unknown to the public. This research attempts to explore issues that are considered essential in understanding workplace injustice. In this paper, a systematic literature review method was adopted where we reviewed articles and examined various issues related to workplace injustice. We also studied research done in the area of social psychology and explore their applicability in the workplace injustice issue. We consider social psychology to be a discipline from which theories, models, and research results can be harnessed to deeply understand workplace injustice. Our review has revealed important issues in the literature on workplace injustice and could be used by organizations to strategize the intervention to overcome workplace injustice and ensuring employees’ well-being in the future.
